Minutes and Agenda
Millstone Borough is governed by the “Borough” form of government. This type of government allows for a direct election of a Mayor,(4 year term), and 6 Council positions,(staggering 3 year terms). The Mayor acts as the administrative authority for the town and is empowered to see that all laws, policies and procedures are enforced. The Mayor chairs all the Council meetings but only votes, when needed, as a tie breaker. The Council acts as the legislative body that creates, modifies and repeals local ordinances. Further, they each have distinctive roles as liaisons for each department in the township.
Both the Mayor and Borough Council are elected at-large, that is, to represent the entire community. Elections for all officials in Millstone are conducted during the November General Election.
Council Meeting are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm, or as otherwise noticed. In Compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act and NJ State Executive Orders, the Borough Council meeting are held both in person and virtually. The virtual portion of the meeting is conducted via the Zoom Meeting program and all are invited to participate.
